    What is it?

    – It is a mentoring program where volunteering mentors are paired with mentees with the goal of forming an additional supportive relationship.

    – The program offers a way of passing valuable skills and knowledge from mentor to mentee and vice-versa.

    – Mentor-mentee relationships can be formal or informal with substantial variations.

    What is expected from the mentors in the program?

    – Mentors are expected to interact with their mentees at least once a week. That includes checking up on them and seeing if they need any form of assistance.

    – Building up personal relationships with their mentees.

    – Attending the meetings.

    – Having fun!

    What are some of the activities to expect in the program?

    – Sip and chat.

    – Game nights.

    – Volunteering programs.

    – Networking.

    Benefits of being a mentor

    – An increase in self-confidence.

    – Expanding your network

    – Antidote to procrastination and anxiety

    – Improvement in communication and people skills

    – And so much more!

    Important points to note!

    – Trust is essential between a mentor and mentee.

    – Confidentiality!

    – Mutual respect and sensitivity.

    – Boundaries should be observed at all times.

    And lastly, the 3 C’s to successful mentorship:

    – Clarity.

    – Communication.

    – Commitment
